Senior Sustainability Consultant

The Strategic Asset Management business within Faithful+Gould, part of the Akins Group, is a leading provider of sustainability, low carbon and renewable energy services within the UK. We provide a range of services to large UK private and public sector clients including rating tools (BREEAM, Ska, Well Building etc); energy efficiency and carbon management services; and post-occupancy evaluation and building performance - through to broader sustainability strategy services.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, knowledgeable senior consultant who possesses a strong understanding of Building Services combined with solid experience in delivering consultancy services in the sustainability area including; BREEAM assessments, and provide technical advice and guidance in other areas of low carbon consultancy with a focus on low carbon technologies and their implementation to a wide range of clients and sectors.

Your permanent location will be our London offices, and the role may include travel to clients’ offices/ sites throughout the UK.



Duties & Responsibilities


The role will typically include:

  • Overseeing our BREEAM assessments from feasibility stage through to project completion
  • Lending and using your technical knowledge and expertise to support and develop the junior members of the team
  • Providing sustainability support to clients in a wide range of areas including;
    sustainability strategies,
    renewable feasibility studies,
    building performance,
    whole life carbon assessments
  • Climate adaptation / mitigation strategies
  • Providing advice to clients/ design teams on the most cost-effective and beneficial route to compliance
  • Identifying potential clients, discussing needs and preparing bid documents
  • Interact with other members of the business and external clients at all levels
  • Facilitating workshops with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Managing resources, deliverables and budgets on projects

 

 

Requirements

  • Qualified BREEAM assessor (preferably BREEAM AP).
  • Experience of working with design teams on a range of commercial and public sector projects
  • Excellent understanding of building services and common industrial processes
  • Preferable: MSc in an Engineering, Energy, Environmental or related field
  • Facilitation skills
  • A keen interest in energy markets and related environmental legislation
  • Enjoy acting as a mentor to others
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external clients
  • Confident with an ability to assimilate within a team and maintain/develop the business
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary
  • Drive and enthusiasm
  • Candidates may be expected to attain an appropriate level of UK security clearance
