Our Strategic Asset Management (SAM) consulting business is looking to expand.

Our SAM consulting centre-of-excellence is based in London. We provide services to organisations in the UK, Europe and across the rest of the world - helping clients manage their buildings and assets in-operation across the asset life cycle and to optimise their facilities management (FM) arrangements. We work with clients who operate large, complex property portfolio’s to manage risk, optimise performance, and improve organisational value.

We are a technical consultancy who make change happen. We work in partnership with our clients to help them better define their existing arrangements and plan for the future.

Building upon recent successes, we are looking to recruit a technically excellent, ambitious and client focused senior consultant who will help expand our technical FM consultancy offering. Working closely with the management team, the successful individual will play a key role in developing and driving growth in this part of our business.


Are we right for each other?

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join us who will be an experienced and ambitious Building Services engineer or Technical Services Manager. You will be responsible for developing and delivering all consulting disciplines related to the Building Engineering Service (BES) and Maintenance aspects of FM including:

  • (Statutory) Maintenance auditing and compliance
  • Contract auditing and compliance
  • Performance remediation and improvement
  • Maintenance planning and optimisation
  • Asset surveying (capture, validation, assessment)
  • Specification definition and service procurement
  • Resilience, business continuity and risk management
  • Operational FM advice


You will play an active part in setting the objectives for this part of the business and you will be responsible for the resulting business plan. You will plan and manage resources, win and deliver successful projects, continually improve our service, collaborate across teams and promote the proposition through structured marketing interventions.

You will be a key positive influence on our collaborative, professional and positive working environment and your industry reputation, network and client rapport will be key factors in you attracting and retaining key client relationships.

To join us you’ll:


  • Be educated to at least Degree level in a related and relevant discipline
  • Have appropriate industry qualifications and accreditations including being a member/fellow of CIBSE BIFM/IAM/CIOB/RICS or similar
  • Come from a Building Services background and have expertise in the operation and management of Mechanical and Electrical assets and asset systems
  • Have a deep understanding statutory, mandatory and best practice industry standards for maintenance and building operation across a number of sectors
  • Be able to demonstrate experience and technical excellence in maintenance planning, optimisation and risk management
  • Have experience of managing and liaising with technical resources allied with an ability to articulate complex technical issues in a simple pragmatic manner
  • Be able to develop strategies and put them into action through a good understanding of how to plan for and deliver successful projects and programmes of change
  • Have operational experience in the disciplines identified
  • Be able to develop your own pipeline of opportunities and be able to convert opportunities into secured work
  • Be strongly analytical, with the ability to identify, define and articulate client requirements and apply logical thinking to design and present solutions
  • Be able motivate and manage people and teams
  • Be a team player - you enjoy collaborative working and create a great framework for teams to work within.
  • Clearly understand your own role in fulfilling the wider goals of the business. You are able to “read” situations well, understanding and influencing the dynamics and drivers of relationships with colleagues and clients alike
  • Be a strong communicator and be confident in building rapport with external stakeholders across various levels of seniority
  • Have the commercial awareness to know the cost of service delivery and how to manage for value
