Energy Program Director

Faithful+Gould’s West Coast Energy Lead will be responsible for the daily management of our growing Energy client base on the West Coast. Be a part of a 12.1 billion international corporation with a local presence! The clients span all facets of the energy industry including Power, T&D, and petrochemical refining.  Strong focus on downstream oil and gas, particularly refinery turnarounds, is a must.  This position will be based in F+G’s Long Beach, California office.

-Direct client management for all current and future F+G clients on the West Coast

-Oversight and management of F+G delivery models and QAQC of deliverables
-Employee engagement including direct reporting relationships
-Financial responsibility of project performance
-Working with Energy Sector management to develop and execute strategic goals
-Business development and industry engagement
-Technical consulting assignments on an as-need basis working with our internal tea
-Occasional travel and direct client support for global, national and regional client
-Works with Operations Directors in support of the delivery of programs and services
-Works with Technical Directors in support of the delivery of programs, services and specific audits
-Represents the project team as client liaison
-Acts as lead interface with client and related project team members and develops full understanding of the scope of projects
-Understands client expectations, requirements, requested deliverables and fee structure 
-Typically works on a site or oversees major client programs, managing Faithful+Gould program delivery teams
-Organizes, coordinates and manages required staff resources to complete deliverables
-Maintains personal chargeability in excess of 75% or at a rate designated by regional management
-Drives major programs/clients and differentiates F+G through excellent delivery of programs/services
-Works with Operations Directors in support of the delivery of programs and services. Works with Technical Directors in support of the delivery of programs, services and specific audits
-Wins work through effective program management
-Develops and implements business development plans and activities
-Reviews program/project financials including monthly PSR updates and identification of any potential issues to VP/SVP for review and action items
-Manages the strategic aspects of programs and mitigates risks
-Develops and implements strategic program objectives in support of office and region initiative
-Provides senior level general project management support as necessary (e.g., financial/operational budgeting, consolidation, analysis, forecasting; business development; pricing; billing; key client/consultant relationship management)




-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, or 25 years of industry experience in lieu of a degree
-At least twenty years relevant experience in an Energy environment, particularly in downstream oil & gas capital project and turnaround environment
-Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities
-Willing to travel at least 50%
-Possess working knowledge of Value-Based Contracting procurement methods
-Possess a strong understanding of project controls delivery models
-Must have the ability to develop and implement systems to monitor service and production for major clients
-Ability to organize information and data to anticipate/identify major trends, problems and obstacles
-Demonstrated experience in people management, particularly in team building and management
-Be able to balance changing client requirements with internal responsibilities
-Be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approaches to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities
-Possess above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and have a working knowledge of standard project management software applications
-Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
